Greetings friends and supporters,
A quick note to let you know that our weekly live radio show, Peace in the Home, is moving to Mondays beginning April 2, 2018. Our show will be available to you live on Mondays, and the live show will be aired again every Friday at 2pm. We work hard to bring you inspiring guests and conversations, so don’t miss it! Peace in the Home, live on Mondays from 1-2p and rebroadcast on Fridays at 2p on Radio Azad. You can find on Radio Azad at 870AM.
April is both National Poetry Month and National Sexual Assault Awareness Month. We are kicking off the month with award-winning poet Tarfia Faizullah as our first guest for April. She was educated at UTAustin and Virginia Commonwealth University (MFA) and currently teaches at the University of Michigan. Her first book of poetry, Seam, won the Crab Orchard Series in Poetry – First Book Award. She has released a new book of poetry titled Registers of Illuminated Villages. While Ms. Faizullah will be our only poet featured live on the radio, we will be featuring Muslim Poets on social media and here on the website throughout the month of April.
Later in the month, we’ll host Curtis Howard, Legal Advisor to the Plano Police Department. Mr. Curtis is a former Assistant District Attorney for Collin County where he prosecuted over 1000 cases. Howard’s most rewarding work was working with victims of child abuse.
We offer our thanks to Radio Azad for their continued support of our show.
