April is National Poetry Month & Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April is the month during which we raise awareness of sexual assault. We invite you to educate yourselves with the facts. Sexual assault affects everyone – women, men and children. Click here to learn more about how you can use your voice to promote safety, respect and equality and stop the violence before it starts.

April also marks the annual celebration of Poetry. Beginning in 1996, the American Academy of Poets organized the event which has become the largest literary celebration in the world. On April 2, we featured Tarfia Faizullah, author of Seam and Registers of Illuminated Villages on our Peace in the Home show. Throughout the month, we’ll be featuring the work of other Muslim poets.
