Summary
The Communications Intern will work with staff and volunteers on digital, promotional, and event media. The Communications Intern will help develop local communication initiatives for the website and social media content and assist in the research of local and national data for Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation(TMWF) materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with development of creative concepts and marketing strategies for promoting the work of TMWF; including creating flyers, mail-outs and/or other duties assigned
- Develop content for promotional materials including electronic newsletters, web site, social media and blog
- Promote agency services open to the community for those in need
- Update/maintain and find new sources for local media to foster relationships
- Create social photo graphics and short video content
- Assist in the research and build a library of local and national data statistics to further promote TMWF mission work
Skills/Qualifications
- Current student attending an accredited Community College or College/University program
- Exceptional oral and writing ability and experience with writing stories
- Ability to collect and synthesize information from diverse sources
- Must be creative & resourceful
- Experience with using social media: Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
- Skills with PowerPoint, Canva/Adobe Spark, iMovie, Illustrator and are extremely useful but not necessary
- Understanding and support of agency’s mission
