Dear TMWF Friends and Family, We hope you are staying safe and healthy during this time. We are continuing to closely monitor information provided by local public health agencies and the CDC on the progression of the COVID‐19 outbreak in the United States. Our International Women’s Day Luncheon was a lovely success! We heard from the thoughtful and knowledgeable Dr. Ingrid Mattson in discussion with Imam Shpendim Nadzaku. We celebrated countless women in the community, including our incredible outgoing Executive Director, Dr. Hind Jarrah. Guests purchased roses for the special women in their lives. TMWF Publishes National Report on Trauma-Informed Care
Ever wondered what we mean when we say we provide “culturally-sensitive and trauma-informed” care? We are beyond excited to announce the publishing of a new report, “From the Roots of Trauma to the Flowering of Trauma-Informed Care,” in collaboration with the Asian Pacific Institute on Gender-Based Violence, under the leadership of Dr. Dheeshana S. Jayasundara. This report defines trauma and trauma-informed practices, what it means to be culturally-sensitive, and why we at TMWF have found these practices
