Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation Announces Mona Kafeel as Interim Executive Director

PLANO, TX. – Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation (TMWF) announces it has named Mona Kafeel as its Interim Executive Director, effective April 1, 2020. Kafeel brings a wealth of organizational experience and community leadership to her next stage of strategic service. Having joined the TMWF in 2007, she most recently served as Chief Philanthropy and Operating Officer and was responsible for its operational management and long-term strategic goals.

In the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Kafeel’s immediate concerns include the increase in domestic violence cases of those with limited financial resources and the vulnerable families whose income streams have been frozen. She steps forward during this crisis with creative problem-solving and leadership skills that are vital to the agency’s stability.

“I am humbled to lead an organization that has transformed the lives of families across Texas and beyond. It is an honor to be trusted with the responsibility of leading Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation into the next phase of scaling our impact,” Kafeel said.

Kafeel succeeds Hind Jarrah, Ph.D. During Dr. Jarrah’s tenure, TMWF realized expanded reach, created services and ensured accountability for their clients, who receive access to culturally sensitive, trauma-informed services despite any socio-political, cultural and linguistic barriers. Dr. Jarrah will remain involved with TMWF in an advisory capacity. TMWF is grateful for her leadership and service.
