Since 2012 our Peaceful Oasis shelter has served as a haven for Muslim and non-Muslim women and their families escaping abusive households. However, due to high need, we are increasingly having to turn away more than 30 clients per month, amounting to more than 360 clients per year. Ramadan is a time many of us spend with loved ones: family, friends, & community members. Ideally it is a peaceful time where one can safely reflect on the past year, connect with Allah, and feel a sense of community.
