At its Annual Program Meeting held in Dallas October 19-22, 2017, the Council on Social Work Education honored the Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation with the 2017 Partners in Advancing Education for International (PIE) Social Work Award. “The CSWE Global Commission is delighted to recognize the foundation’s extraordinary achievement in international social work education.” Congratualtions to the Foundation and to our dedicated Social Services Staff!  We save lives everyday and heal the human soul!

We are so happy to announce that Imam Khalid Latif will be our special guest and keynote speaker for TMWF’s 13th Annual Fundraising Dinner on January 27, 2018. Imam Latif is the Executive Director of the Islamic Center at New York University and is the first Imam to be invited to serve as a Chaplain for the New York City Police Department. We are honored that TMWF’s Executive Director, Hind Jarrah, Ph.D. has been selected as one of the Dallas Women’s Foundation 2017 Leadership Award Recipients. The Maura Women Helping Women Awards are presented annually to exceptional leaders who have pioneered the way in improving lives for women and girls. She will be formally recognized at the Dallas Women’s Foundation Leadership Forum & Awards Dinner on May 9. Filmmaker Emily Miller, senior at Booker T. Washington High School, recently won Studio Movie Grill’s “Shared Stories Film Series and Competition” for her PSA on TMWF.  The competition focused on young female filmmakers and showcasing women’s issues. We congratulate Emily Miller and her teacher Niloo Jalilvand on the winning PSA and thank them for spreading awareness about our organization.
